The Cuban capital this month will host the 5th La Giraldilla International Badminton Tournament, dedicated to the anniversary of the City of Havana.
Cuban badminton officials pointed out that the event will grant 180 points for the world ranking, and participants will compete individually (men and women), in pairs (men and women) and in mixed pairs.
The games will be played with feather shuttlecocks on Teraflet courts, as established by the International Badminton Federation.
The Cuban delegation is made up of Cuba's best player, Isaura Medina, and Ilián Pérez, Solángel Guzmán and Lázaro Pérez, among other athletes.
Sources from the organizing committee noted the high competitive level of the tournament due to the participation of players from Japan, Mexico, and Trinidad and Tobago.
