Professor Alvarez Cambra will preside over the Congress opening Thursday at the Convention Center in Varadero beach with 300 guests from 10 countries.
The renowned scientist said the new technologies in this field spread through out the Island as part of national efforts to meet peoples basic needs, taking the service to the communities.

Among other services he mentioned knee, hip and shoulder osteoscopy, sports traumatology and RALCA external fixators, in use in many countries since 1971.
The professor added that Cuba s school of orthopedics has trained many professionals from Latin America and worldwide, and has produced literature, technology and qualified specialists.
