Cumba recovered from a bad start to make a 19.12 meter toss in her third attempt in the shot-put to take the bronze, behind Oceania’s Valerie Vili (19.87) and Russian Olga Ryabinkina (19.54).
In the hammer throw competition, Moreno unleashed three throws over 73 meters, with a opening hurl of 73.99 meters to end third. Polish athlete Kamila Skolimowska (75.29) placed first in front of the world record holder, Russia’s Tatyana Lysenko (74.44).
