The jury, formed by Francisco López Sacha, Alejandro Alvarez and Margarita Mateo, emphasized “his precise and at the same time audacious sense of the gender, his expressive domain and the high quality achieved in the construction of the atmosphere, the ambient, the characters and the artistic solution of a metaphor that comprise the ciphered history of the story and highlight, in opposition, the evident history of a contemporary circumstance”.
The rewarding act of this summons, initiative of the translator and critic Ugné Karvelis, who was so close to the great Argentinean writer, was hosted by the Instituto Cubano del Libro, Casa de las Américas and ALIA Foundation.
