Eastern Las Tunas province is hosting the 23rd edition of the Cultural Week this month.
The event is aimed at rescuing Cuba's most autochthonous traditions and will be dedicated to renowned writer Alejo Carpentier.
The program consists of lectures, roundtable discussions and performances to commemorate the 100th birthday of the prominent Cuban intellectual.
The cultural offers also include the inauguration of the José Antonio Díaz Peláez Art Salon, theater performances, humor and magic, art fairs and musical concerts.
Generally, the Cultural Week in Las Tunas commemorates the beginning of the 1868 war of independence in that province.
