The Spanish group Domingo Alonso, based in the Canary Islands, will represent the German automaker Volkswagen in Cuba.
According to the Spanish economic press, the German consortium is expected to sell 500-700 vehicles a year in Cuba.
The Spanish firm plans to open its main office in the Cuban capital, in order to sell cars and provide warranty services, technical assistance and spare parts.
The company will also provide services in tourist destinations like Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos and western Cuba.
In 2004, Domingo Alonso sold 15,000 vehicles at a total value of 468 million dollars.
This year's plans include sales of 20,000 vehicles in all markets where the Spanish company is present, including the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla, Cape Verde, Venezuela and Cuba.
