| The eclectic Ambos Mundos Hotel was built in the late 1920's and it isan intimate and cozy place that stands out because of its history. Inthe early 1930's, the American writer, Ernest Hemingway, stayed in thishotel and, in the room 511, he wrote the first chapter of For whom thebell tolls since he found the hotel "a good place to write". Nowadayas,the room the writer had, keeps some of his belongings and the Plaza deArmas restaurant serves his favorite dishes. Besides, the hotel has awonderful rooftop bar-restaurant that has exquisite grilled food andthe best of the views. The privileged location of the hotel, downtown,makes it an excellent place to admire the values of the old part of thecity. |
