According to experts, Hernández's artworks are characterized by a peculiar treatment of the sense of beauty, and convey sensations that are close to those people feel when in contact with nature.

El Negro, who has presented several personal and collective exhibits in Cuba and abroad, has won more than 15 national awards, among other acknowledgements.

He remembers many good moments of his professional career, including attending the inauguration of Man's Chapel, in Ecuador.

His artworks are part of permanent and private collections in the United States, Hungary, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Holland, Portugal and several Latin American countries.

Humberto Hernández, a graduate from the National School of Arts and the Higher Pedagogical Institute, has made great contributions to Cuba's cultural heritage.
