Wax Museum in Bayamo
The museum will be inaugurated in July in a building near the Professional Academy of Plastic Arts.
Among the most relevant pieces at the museum are the life-size statues of the famous Cuban musicians Compay Segundo and Polo Montañez.
The exhibit will initially consist of 70 wax sculptures created by Rafael and Leander Barrios Milán and their father, Maestro Rafael Barrios Madrigal.
The artists, who reside in Guisa municipality, mainly sculpt birds and animals from the Cuban fauna. Their first incursions in modeling human figures led them to create the sculptures of the aforementioned musicians.
