Center officials pointed out that they carried out preclinical toxicological evaluations of 19 products in 2004.

In addition, they published the database "Toxidrogas" (Toxidrugs), which contains information about 200 synthetic or natural substances, in an effort to advise experts and the people about their use and consumption.

The center also provides pharmacological and toxicological advice to thousands of users who need that kind of information.

The Toxicology and Biomedicine Center works closely to hospitals, as part of a strategy to evaluate patients suffering from acute poisoning, and provides advice on occupational hazards to local companies.
