State-of-the-art Medical Technology in Granma
Bayamo's university general hospital has benefited from the installation of a modern Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) scanner.
According to experts, the test phase began in December 2004 and since then, more than 180 patients have benefited from the new service.
The experts added that the Japanese-made piece of equipment allows doctors to make rapid and accurate diagnoses.
In that regard, the equipment is used to diagnose diseases in the head, chest, abdomen, pancreas and lower limbs, in addition to allowing doctors to view other internal organs in an non-invasive way.
