According to company executives, that amount accounts for a 27-percent increase, compared to the previous year.

Sol Meliá currently runs 24 hotels totaling 8,446 rooms in Cuba, that is, 22 percent of the island's capacity.

The Spanish hotel chain is present in Cuba with four of its five commercial brands – Meliá Hoteles, Sol Hoteles, Paradisus Resorts and Tryp Hoteles.

The company pays special attention to the promotion of family tours, incentives, honeymoons and golf.
