Restoration Works in Cuban Historic Cemetery
Among the cemetery's values is the existence of vertical niches used as tombs, resembling a crypt built by Bishop Espada y Landa in Havana in 1805.
In addition, among the cemetery's valuable marble sculpture is the one known as Sleeping Beauty.
Experts are working on the chapel and the niches, and will later work on the wall, the monuments and the tombs, as well as the grass, ways of access and the water supply system.
The administrative building will house a museum that will exhibit the characteristics and patrimonial values of the cemetery, and experts will work as guides to those who visit the place, declared a National Monument.
