Record Number of Tourists in Cuba for Summer Season
According to sources from the tourism sector, 44,415 visitors were staying in Cuban hotels on August 10, breaking the previous record of 40,026, set on August 19, 2003.
Cuba's major destinations are Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens), in eastern Ciego de Avila province, Holguín, Varadero beach and the City of Havana.
Regarding the Caribbean Island's main markets, Canada topped the list, followed by Great Britain and Italy.
According to experts, statistics show sustained development in the leisure industry over the past few months, which has grown 1 percent, compared to the previous year.
Based on the rising tendency in tourist arrivals so far this year, experts have predicted positive results in all markets during the winter season.
