Over 71 thousand Cubans study IT in community networks
According to the network´s director, Raul Van Troi, that is the highest admission in the island since the clubs were inaugurated by president Fidel Castro on October, 1987.
To accomplish this misión, instructors of the 400 clubs are constantly upgrading their knowledge, asserted the director and added that in 2005, all instructors will have earned some scientific grade.
Equipped with the most modern technologies, the Youth Clubs have contributed greatly to the informatization of society by forming hundreds of youths in that field.
Those institutions are a complement to teaching Information Technology in the islands´ schools, as Cuba´s national education system has it as one of its matters in elementary schools.
