Old Havana Bets on Tourism

A wide range of attractions for the leisure industry, from hotels to commercial establishments to historic buildings are concentrated in Havana's old quarters, which cover an area of 70 blocks.

According to experts, foreign visitors cannot resist the temptation of walking its cobblestone streets and enjoying the sight of old mansions, some of which have recovered their original splendor after painstaking restoration works.

Exhibitions of artworks and antiques, and even concerts by small-format groups are held in those old buildings.

Declared a World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1982, Havana's Historic Heart also holds a wide range of establishments specialized in Cuban and international cuisine.

Many of those places re-create the ambiance that existed centuries ago and give a singular touch to the city. That is the case of "Taberna de Muralla" (Wall's Tavern), which brews its own beer.
