The factory, which opened six years ago, will increase sales by 20 percent in 2004, compared to the previous year.

So far this year, the plant has produced more than 1.8 million boxes of soft drinks and water, and has reported revenues of nine million dollars.

Los Portales S.A. produces canned soft drinks under the brand of Ciego Montero and 11 different flavors of bottled sodas, in addition to natural and gassed mineral water.

Among the company's short-term goals is improving the presentation of products to hit new foreign markets and gain ground in the Caribbean and Europe.

In 2003, a new two-liter bottling line was installed, thus improving the quality of products.
