The initiative is part of the efforts to recuperate the Bayamo River, which already has a resort for 3,000 people.

According to experts, the program also includes a nearby beach that will contribute to mitigating the severe heat that affects eastern Cuba all year around.

The resort is part of the complex, which was built in the urban segment of the river, which runs for 14 kilometers and covers 582 hectares.

The program aims to protect the river, nearby wells and drainage systems, all of which are closely linked to most of the water consumed by local people.

The project includes reforestation, the construction of recreational facilities and the promotion of actions to foster environmental education.
