New Nautical Base for Tourism in Cuba
The project, which is part of a joint venture between the German company ConImpex and the group Cubanacán S.A., will be the only nautical base in Cuba's south coast.
The German firm's Bluesail trademark will initially contribute eight yachts, which will be anchored in the Cienfuegos International Marina.
The flotilla might increase to 15 boats over the next few months, although long-term plans include up to 200 yachts.
This tourist product is usually hired by clients whose average age is 35-40 and travel with their families or friends to discover the mysteries of sailing in the Caribbean.
The potential sources of clients are Canada, which could provide 50 percent of vacationers, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
