The works aim to increase the number of hotel rooms in the region, where there are many attractions for foreign vacationers.

Construction of Trinidad's Canada Hotel, which will be the first five-star establishment in central Cuba, began this year.

The establishment is being built by a joint venture with Spanish capital and is located in the downtown area of the so-called city-museum.

The hotel, which is being built on the foundation of a three-story traditional building, will offer 40 rooms and will be completed in 14 months.
