Among the new facilities inaugurated this year are 25 television halls in mountainous areas to treat people suffering from some kinds of disabilities.

According to experts, more than 9,000 patients have been treated using a score of therapeutic methods, including musical therapy.

In addition, 21 other rehabilitation facilities are treating nearly 60,000 patients with acupuncture and natural medicine, among other options.

The province also has eight optician's shops that have contributed to reducing the time to make and repair glasses.

Moreover, the Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Provincial University Hospital benefited from renovation works that included a new clinical laboratory for emergencies.
