Researchers from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment carried out the project, which will allow learning about medicinal plants whose curative properties have been scientifically proven.

The database unifies key agri-technical aspects of the plants that had so far been scattered in the Medical Guide to Phyto and Api-Medicines, lists of botanical families and other small publications.

The CD-ROM is also a consultation tool for family doctors, pharmacists, teachers, homemakers and people in general.

In addition to describing each plant, the database includes their therapeutic properties against different ailments and the traditional pharmaceutical product that the plant can replace.
