More Rooms for Tourism in Winter
Cuban tourism authorities pointed out that 2,200 new rooms would be available in four- and five-star hotels, in addition to 1,100 rooms that were remodeled.
The new rooms were built in tourist resorts in Pinar del Río, City of Havana, Varadero, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, Cayo Coco, Holguín and Santiago de Cuba.
As part of preparations for the peak season, tourism authorities have carried out promotion campaigns in some of the main markets, especially Mexico, France, Russia and Japan.
In addition, gastronomic festivals were held in Germany and Peru, and familiarization groups from Spain, Canada and Holland have visited Cuba.
The sources added that tour operators and travel agents from Canada and Germany would visit the island by this year's end.
