Granma Gets Ready for Peak Tourist Season
The strategy includes improvement of the region's hotel infrastructure after several establishments have been closed since April to date.
In addition, Flora and Fauna authorities are preparing and placing signs along trails for nature tourism.
Tourism officials have designed the offers in each hotel with an eye to improving the quality of services, on which will depend that at least 90 percent of the number of vacationers expected during the year will visit the province during the peak season.
In order to achieve that goal, experts said, hotels like Marea del Portillo and Farallón del Caribe, the province's main lodging facilities which total 270 rooms, must close 2004 at full capacity.
