GM Lázaro Bruzón Finishes Third and Unbeaten at International Chess Tournament
In the last round Bruzón - 2637 of ELO rating - tied with IM Oscar de la Riva, while the Ukrainian wiz kid Sergey Karjakin, who is only 14 years old, achieved a similar result facing German GM Arkadij Naiditsch, thus placing second.
Israel's GM Boris Gelfand won the competition. He has an ELO rating of 2693 and ranks 18 worldwide.
In addition to the above-mentioned players this edition of the Pamplona Tournament was also attended by another three world famous GM´s Israeli Emil Sutovsky (2697, el Azeri Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2660) and Armenian Rafael Vaganian (2640).
The final standings: Gelfand (5,5), Karjakin (4,5), Bruzón (4), De la Riva (3,5), Mamedyarov, Sutovsky y Naiditsch (3), y Vaganian (1,5).
