France's Castel to Sponsor Cuban Wine Academy
During the 5th International Wine Festival, held at Havana's Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Castel executives said that wine exports to Cuba aims to meet the demand from the tourism industry.
The French company, which has reported sales of 2.2 billion dollars, has vineyards in France and Morocco, and sells its wines in 81 countries.
During the Havana meeting, Castel presented a wide range of products, including the red wines Viognier, Cabernet Syrat and Chateau Ferrande, and the pink wine Boulaune.
Cuban sommeliers, who are highly qualified and have taken training courses both in the Caribbean Island and abroad, are promoting wine sales in hotels and restaurants.
Hosting the Wine Festival every year has added another attraction to the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, which was founded more than 70 years ago.
