Experts Predict Good Tobacco Harvest
According to experts, preliminary results exceed those reported in previous years, including big volumes of excellent leaves.
During the ongoing harvest, characterized by compliance with the planting schedule, 21,440 hectares of lands were planted in four tobacco-growing regions.
Plantations had a healthy record, since no plagues, which usually have devastating effects, were reported during the ongoing harvest.
After recollection, the leaves undergo a drying process at 11,000 tobacco houses, where they are kept until they get the different appearances and colors demanded by cigar aficionados.
