Experts in public heath, education and Animal, Flora and Fauna Protection are in charge of the so-called Integral Equine-Therapy Project in the province.

The initiative has benefited some 40 patients, most of whom are affected by brain paralysis, lesions of the central nervous system or Down syndrome.

In those cases, horse riding has contributed to the rehabilitation of the patients' muscular system, the improvement of balance and the development of self-esteem.

The experts pointed out that horse's harmonic movement strengthens muscles structures, since most muscles in the human body are needed to ride a horse.
