Cultural Options at Nacional de Cuba Hotel
Working on that direction, the establishment created the Salon 1930, which was turned into the headquarters of the Buena Vista Social Club, a world-renowned Cuban group that plays traditional music.
Cuban musicians such as Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo and Julio Fernández perform regularly at the Salon 1930.
A trio playing Cuban music performs at La Barraca, while a quartet plays at the art gallery in the afternoons.
The hotel's cultural initiative also includes the show Tarde Cubana (Cuban Afternoon) on Sundays, with performances by the Cucalambé Folkloric Ballet and the group Yoruba Andabo.
In addition, the Nacional de Cuba Hotel is the venue of the International New Latin American Film Festival every year, hosting news conferences and interviews by visiting artists and moviemakers at Rincón del Cine (Cinema Nook).
