Experts from Cuba's Ministry of Tourism pointed out that from 1990 to date, tourist arrivals in the Caribbean Island have increased fivefold, totaling 14 million vacationers.

They added that during the said period, the number of rooms has increased threefold, while revenues have grown eightfold.

Officials from the Peruvian Association of Tour Operators noted the fast development of health tourism in Cuba.

In that regard, the Cuban experts said that health tourism is based on an internationally-renowned nationwide public health system that also benefits Cubans.
