According to the jury, Fabelo's artworks have gone beyond national boundaries. He has received more than 23 awards and has presented 24 individual exhibitions.

In that regard, they noted his artistic career as a painter, drawer, engraver, illustrator and sculptor, among other expressions that he has cultivated.

The jury pointed out that Fabelo has turned drawing into a vast universe and watercolors into a paradise, creating creatures that range from angelical to demoniacal.

On this occasion, the list of candidates also included Salvador Corratgé, Zaida del Río, Nelson Domínguez, Antonio Ferrer Cabello, José Gómez Fresquet (FREMEZ), Pedro Pablo Oliva, René Francisco Rodríguez, Alfredo Roostgard and José Villa.
