The Cuban delegation is headed by María Teresa Cedeño and Jorge Torres, and includes Yamila Pita, Cindy López, Fani Laura Pedroso, Juan Carlos Yi, Yassier Gregorio and Tony García, among others.

The event, a qualifier for the Continental Games in Brazil in 2007, includes competitions in the modalities of races, artistic skating and hockey.

However, the Cubans will only compete in races and artistic skating and are expected to achieve good results at the tournament.

The Cuban team might be made up of eight athletes – four men and four women – since they will also compete in the relay race.

Athletes from 12 countries, including Colombia, the United States, Chile and Venezuela, have confirmed participation in the tournament in Argentina.
