The company, which operates under the commercial name of ASTISUR, will repair two dozen boats from Cienfuegos and Ciego de Avila.

The firm plans to have all boats repaired before the beginning of the fishing season in November.

The boats will be completely remodeled, including improving their infrastructure and paint.

According to ASTISUR executives, the first three boats were delivered and the rest of the boats will be restored by October 30.

In addition, the company makes spare parts using recycled raw materials to replace essential elements during maintenance works on the pipe, control and electrical systems, thus reducing production costs.
