Cuban Province Diversifies Exports
So far this year, the province has had revenues of 50 million dollars by concept of exports.
That amount, experts said, accounts for a 10-percent increase compared to the same period in 2003, due to the existence of 50 export categories.
The increase in revenues has mainly resulted from the introduction of new lines of products, thus reducing dependence on traditional exports.
The company TEXORO ratified its condition as the main exporter of Cuba's Textile Union, and apiculturists from the province have greatly contributed to increasing exports of high-quality bee honey.
Granma has also increased exports of seafood, coffee, handicrafts made from natural materials, sugar, fruit juices, liquors and marble, among others products.
