Cuban Foreign Minister Lauds Relations with Vietnam
The Cuban official said that Vietnam is a sister nation for which the Cuban people have a profound affection and gratitude. He added that both countries coincide in positions, mutual solidarity and reciprocal support.
Perez Roque said Cuba will never forget Vietnam's profound expressions of support during the 1990s when the island registered the worst economic crisis in its history.
The Vietnamese official expressed his appreciation for the fraternal welcoming in the Cuban capital and said he hopes to learn more about the current reality on the island where he went to university.
Bilateral, regional and international issues in compliance with the annual inter foreign ministry exchanges were the main topics of discussion among the delegations. Cuba and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960.
The Vietnamese guest is also attending the Group of 77 South- South cooperation meeting currently underway at the Havana International Convention Center.
