The first team to reach three wins will be the champion this season. Ciego de Avila was the leader in the regular phase of the 12th Basketball Superior League.

Both teams are tied in the finals with one win for each. A game on Saturday will not decide the winner but will break the tied.

Santiago de Cuba won the first game of the finals over Ciego de Avila 92-91 in extra time. But the second game was different; Ciego de Avila beat Santiago 97-78.

Ciego de Avila´s team relies much on defense Maikel Guerra and the offensive skills of Jean Luis Haití to decide a win over the opponents.

Santiago de Cuba needs players such as Angel Núñez and Caballero play a more leading role in the game and score more points for their team.
