Coaches assembled a 25-player team, as part of a schedule that includes Cuba's qualification for the World Championship in Rio de Janeiro in 2006.

In March 2005, the Cuban team will play against the US University of Kentucky and will later take part in the World League.

In that tournament, the Cuban team will have to play strong rivals like Brazil, Africa and Europe, as it happened in the previous edition.

Regarding the qualification for the World Championship in Brazil, the date and place of the qualifying event has not been set yet, but Canada and Argentina will be the strongest rivals of the Cuban team.

The fact that Brazil and the United States have already qualified for the world tournament removes two major obstacles in Cuba's path.
