The product, which has been used in construction works in the tourism sector, is made up of cement, silica sand and glue, and is expected to meet the country's demand.

By improving the efficiency of the country's adhesive-producing factories, the Cuban industry will meet the domestic demand for that construction material, thus reducing imports.

The equipment used to mix the ingredients of the adhesive substance is the only one of its kind in the country and was designed by Cuban experts.

The machine has a daily production capacity of 20 tons, although that capacity will be increased in the future after some technical modifications.

So far, the plant has supplied more than 400 tons of the adhesive substance, which has been used to lay floor tiles, pavement and covering in hotels in Varadero, Cayo Santa María and Holguín.
