Cuba to Produce Drug against Lung Cancer
Sources from the health sector pointed out that three plants are under construction, adding that the factories will ensure the beginning of clinical trials on the drug.
In addition, they said that similar efficacy tests are being carried out in the United States.
The sources added that the plants are scheduled to start up operation during the first semester of the year.
Two of the plants are being built at the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center and will produce the active ingredients of the EGF-P64K vaccine.
The third plant, built at the Molecular Immunology Center (CIM, in Spanish), will produce the vaccine, following all requirements needed to get authorization to begin experimental treatments in humans.
