The Cuban delegation includes four members of the Olympic team, including International Master (IM) Yunieski Quesada, who won last year's tournament and has qualified for the finals.

The team also includes Grand Masters (GM) Neuris Delgado, Jesús Nogueiras and Walter Arencibia.

Other team members are GM Reinaldo Vera, Silvino García, Frank de la Paz and Maritza Arribas, and IM Ariam Abreu and Holden Hernández.

First-class chess players like GM Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Alexander Graf (Germany) and Vadim Milov (Switzerland) will participate in the championship.
