After defeating Haiti 1 goal to 0 in a game held at the Silvio Gatord Stadium, in that Caribbean country, Cuba tied 1-1 in the second-leg game held in Havana.

After the tie, achieved in extra time, Cuba remained undefeated in the qualifying phase and moved to the next phase.

In late February, Barbados will host a four-team qualifying tournament at which three countries will qualify for the Gold Cup in the United States.

After defeating Haiti, the Cuban team will have to play against strong rivals like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, to qualify for the Gold Cup.
