Cuba Improves Electro-Medical Services
Just a year after the process began medical services have already improved, Juventud Rebelde daily reports.
Electromedicine services began to be applied in Cuba in 1963 and are being offered on the island by 1,500 specialists who work in more than 40 provincial and territorial health centers, plus 80 hospitals and institutes.
Some achievements in the electro-medical field include the establishment of 121 intensive care units as well as laboratories and the furnishing of rural hospitals with different types of diagnostic equipment including magnetic resonance (MRI).
In order to keep specialists updated on electro-medical issues courses are offered through the new community-based university programs both for new and experienced personnel.
