Cuba to Host Meeting on Crew Hiring
According to experts, the event is part of the activities of the International Transportation Fair and is aimed at promoting the hiring of Cuban sailors.
The meeting will be attended by delegates from major groups of ship owners, hiring agencies, training centers, maritime universities and other sectors involved in international trade, as well as Cuba's main clients in the region.
The meeting is being organized by the companies Selecmar, Güincho and Agemarca, and is sponsored by the Pan-American Institute of Naval Engineering (IPIN).
Cuba began hiring sailors less than a decade ago, and it currently has more than 1,000 crewmembers on cargo ships, cruise ships, towboats, oil platforms, yachts and other vessels in several countries.
