Cuba to Host Continental Junior Hockey Competition
According to Cuban experts, players from 12 countries will attend the tournament, at which two teams will qualify for the World Cup in the Netherlands.
The Cuban team will play in Group A, along with Barbados, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Argentina and the United States. Group B is made up of Puerto Rico, Chile, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Mexico.
The tournament will be held under the all-around system, and the two first teams in each group will qualify for the second phase.
In order to compete in the Pan-American tournament, Cuba is training a 24-strong team from where 16 players will make the national team.
The experts said that it will be a tough competition in which the United States, Chile, Barbados and Argentina will be Cuba's strongest rivals.
