On this occasion, Pedro Pablo Pérez, who has won Cuba's Cycling Tour several times, will not go to Venezuela, because he is recovering from an injury.
So far, the national teams from Chile and Colombia, a team from Mexico and the Colombia Selle Italia, will compete in the Venezuelan tour, while some European and Latin American countries have not confirmed participation yet.
Sources from the organizing committee pointed out that the tour will consist of 14 stages, one of which will be a time trial race. They added that 20 mountain prizes would be granted during the tour, which will include the states of Zulia, Trujillo, Mérida and Táchira.
Each team will compete with a maximum of eight cyclists on a 1,814-kilometer route.
