Cuba Boosts Technological Renovation in Health Sector
According to preliminary statistics, the program has increased the number of medical equipment installed in health facilities in Cuba to 114,000.
Experts in electro-medicine, a specialty that has graduated 1,500 specialists in Cuba since 1963, are carrying out the installation work.
The program is supported by a National Electro-Medicine Center, 14 provincial institutes, 28 territorial institutions, and technicians in 80 hospitals and institutes.
The experts have installed the equipment being used in 121 Intensive Care wards, as well as laboratories and diagnostic equipment in polyclinics and rural hospitals, in addition to Magnetic Resonance apparatuses.
