Cuba Boosts Congress Tourism
According to official statistics, 1,060 foreign delegates participated in all 13 events held in January in the country as part of the efforts to foster that tourist modality.
This year's schedule includes 454 international meetings on a wide range of topics, 71 events more than last year.
In addition, Cuba will host 126 meetings of national institutions from the State's Central Administration, non-governmental organizations and scientific societies.
Congress tourism has grown steadily in the country over the past few years. Since 2002, Cuba has ranked fifth in the continent in that tourist modality, only preceded by the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
