According to experts from the Ministry for Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration, Canada ranks second among the countries involved in that kind of exchange with Cuba.

The experts added that those actions are a complement to Cuban authorities' efforts to foster development.

Moreover, Canada is the main source of vacationers to the Caribbean Island, and bilateral relations have developed in an atmosphere of respect, stability and mutual benefits.

Some large- and medium-scale projects have been carried out in the five eastern provinces and have benefited such sectors as food security, environment, water, education, public health and training.

Other exchanges have taken place in the fields of culture, employment, alternative sources of energy and rationalization of local resources.
