Chinese Firm Presents New Products in Cuba
In 2001, the company established commercial relations with the Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (ETECSA), and assumed the construction of a GSM network in Santiago de Cuba and other neighboring provinces.
In addition, ZTE maintains business ties with the Grupo de la Electrónica and Cuba's Ministry of Transport. In the case of the latter, the Chinese company supplies communication and signaling systems for the island's railroad.
In 2003, ZTE had revenues of 3.2 billion dollars, and exports reached 600 million dollars.
The Chinese firm produces telecommunications equipment, cell phone terminals and integral solutions, and is one of the world's major suppliers of GSM equipment.
