Camagüey to Host National Theater Festival
According to sources from the organizing committee, 27 plays will be presented at the contest, thus allowing experts to assess the work of theater makers on the Caribbean Island.
Among the plays to be presented are "Life and Death of Pier Paolo Pasolini" (Argos Teatro), "The Lovers of Verona" (Estudio Teatral Vivarta) and "Mammals Talking with Their Dead" (Pequeño Teatro de La Habana).
In addition, experts will participate in a colloquium on plays staged recently in the Caribbean Island.
On previous editions, the festival, founded by playwright Rómulo Loredo in 1983, has granted awards to relevant plays, including "Sorrows Can Swim", by Abelardo Estorino (National Literature and Theater Award winner), and "If You Are Going to Have Dinner Wait for Virgilio", by José Milián.
